BIDS

Brain Imaging Data Structure — a standardized folder and naming structure for neuroimaging data.

DBS

Deep Brain Stimulation.

MNI space

Standard template space (e.g. MNI152NLin2009bAsym) into which individual brain images are normalized.

NIfTI

Standard file format for volumes in neuroimaging (.nii, .nii.gz).

Native space

The individual patient space — images as they were acquired (as opposed to template space).

Tractography

Reconstructed fiber pathways from diffusion MRI (.trk).

VTA

Volume of Tissue Activated — the tissue volume activated by a DBS stimulation.

Warp field

Deformation field describing an image registration (e.g. native → MNI); manually correctable with Warpdrive.
